Emanuel G., a student at Elizabeth Davis Middle School in Chester, VA, struggled to find the correct notes when practicing on his own. But before-school practices run by the Tri-M chapter once a week changed everything. “I was able to hear what the music is actually supposed to sound like,” Emanuel says. “It helped me improve my notes and rhythms.”
